Sanpete County is located in central Utah. As of 2000 the population was
22,763 and by 2004 was estimated at 23,647. It was possibly named for a
Ute Indian chief named San Pitch, which was changed to Sanpete. The
county seat is Manti and its largest city is Ephraim. Median home value
as of 2000 was $104,800.
